Harford County Sheriff’s Office Apprehend Suspect In Edgewood Stabbing


The Harford County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Wednesday in connection with a stabbing that occurred in Edgewood five hours earlier. On August 23, 2017 at roughly 3:38 PM, deputies responded to the 100 block of Jacob Street in Edgewood after receiving a report of a stabbing. Once they arrived at the scene, deputies discovered 31-year-old Chester Derrick Osborne of Edgewood suffering from a stab wound to the upper body.

Osborne was treated by medics at the scene, before being taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. The victim’s injuries were not life threatening. After an investigation, deputies discovered that the victim had gotten into a verbal altercation with a black male suspect. The argument took place in the 100 block of Jacob Street.

Violent Weekend In Baltimore

The argument escalated and the victim was ultimately stabbed. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigation Division took over the case. Forensics arrived at the scene to collect and preserve physical evidence. Eventually, detectives were able to identify their suspect as 39-year-old Roland Henry or Maryland. Deputies responded to a location where Henry might be located at approximately 8:45 PM.

Henry was taken into custody without incident. He was subsequently transported to CID for questioning. After an interview, Henry was charged with first- and second-degree assault and third- and fourth-degree burglary. Henry is now being held at the Harford County Detention Center without bail.
