Governor Larry Hogan Calls Upon FAA To Return To Pre-NextGen Flight patterns

On Thursday, in a letter to the Federal Aviation Administration, Governor Larry Hogan requested for flight patterns to be reinstated to their original locations at BWI.

Residents have voiced concerns about the increase in the noise level, which started after the Next Generation Air Transportation System at Reagan and Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall airports was launched in 2014. Hogan outlined those concerns in the letter to the FAA.

At a community roundtable, residents asked that the FAA return to flight paths that were in place before the “NextGen” implementation. Hogan repeated that request in the letter.

“I sincerely hope that we are able to find common ground and an amicable resolution,” Hogan said.
