GE MDS, LLC filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the New York State Department of Labor on October 16. The notice indicates the Rochester-based company will lay off 89 employees new year.
GE MDS produces wireless radios for electric, gas, oil, campus and telecom connections, public safety, rail, lottery and traffic markets. The company offers the SD4, a narrowband radio that controls and monitors gas and oil well, as well as pipelines, compressor stations and capacitor banks.
GE MDS will lay off 89 workers housed in its Rochester, New York facility at 175 Science Parkway. The employees are expected to separate on January 16, 2018 or during a 14-day period beginning on that date, according to the filing.
The workers are not represented by a union.
