GateWay Rehabilitation To Close Three Centers In Pennsylvania

Gateway Rehabilitation filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry earlier this week. The notice indicates the company will close three of its facilities in Pennsylvania and lay off 72 employees.

Gateway RehabilitationGateway will close its community transition centers in Aliquippa, Erie and Braddock on December 1 as a result of budgetary shortfalls within state government, The Times reports.

The Gateway spokesman told The Times that the state budget shortfall reduced the number of beds funded for rehab patients from about 2,000 to around 900.
