Former Old Dominion University Employee Pleaded Guilty To Receiving Child Pornography


U.S. Attorney Dana J. Boente announced Tuesday a former Old Dominion University employee who worked in the computer science department pleaded guilty to receiving images of child sexual abuse.

Judge And JuryThirty-three-year-old Christopher J. West of Virginia Beach distributed child pornography to an undercover FBI agent in 2016. An IP address led agents to West’s apartment. On April 20, agents executed a search warrant at West’s residence and recovered multiple videos of child pornography stored on electronic devices, according to court documents.

The receipt of child pornography charge carries a maximum 20-year prison term. West’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for February 21, 2018.
