Fatal Shooting In Curtis Bay Marks 204th Homicide In Baltimore
A fatal shooting that took place in Curtis Bay on Sunday marks the 204th homicide in Baltimore this year.
Around 12:50 p.m., Baltimore police officer received a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of Hazel Street. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered a 24-year-old man just outside the Sooners Tavern in Curtis Bay. The man was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
The man was transported to a location hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Detectives believe the victim and suspect were acquainted and had a history of altercations.
Additional information on the case and the man’s identity was not immediately available.
In 1993, Baltimore recorded 201 homicides through July 31. At the time, the city had 100,000 more residents.
