Fargo Season 5, the fifth installment of Fargo, will premiere very soon. Fargo is a crime drama that was created by Noah Hawley and tells the story of Lester Nygaard’s life in Fargo, North Dakota. The series takes place 30 years after Fargo Season 1 and follows two new protagonists: Ray Stussy (Ewan McGregor) and Emmit Stussy (also played by Ewan McGregor).
The anthology series aired on FX on April 15, 2014, and follows an anthology structure, with each season set in a different era and locale, with a distinct plot and mainly fresh characters and actors, though there is some crossover. Each season is highly influenced by the Coen brothers’ films, with several allusions to them in each episode.
About Fargo Season 5
In Fargo Season Five, Ray and Emmit struggle with the fallout from one of their cons that leaves them on opposite sides. In a tangle of motives and memories out for revenge against each other, they know there can only be one winner in this game – but how far will they go to find it? Meanwhile, Gloria is faced with more than she knows what to do when confronted by her past musical successes as well as present-day challenges.
The fourth season, which was set in 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri and starred Chris Rock, Jessie Buckley, Jason Schwartzman, Ben Whishaw, and Jack Huston, aired on September 27, 2020, to generally favourable reviews, albeit it was not as well-received as the previous seasons.
While the show has yet to be renewed for a fifth season, Hawley revealed in November 2020 that he was working on a concept and that it might be set “anywhere in the near past.” He indicated an interest in discontinuing the show after the fifth season in July 2021.
Fargo Season Five will consist of ten episodes. Fargo’s fifth season is set soon and follows an ever-competitive Peggy Blumquist (Kirsten Dunst) as she attempts to navigate living under the thumb of her new husband Ed (Jesse Plemmons), a parole officer with big plans for himself who doesn’t tolerate failure from his wife or children especially now that he believes he has finally found success after years in law enforcement.
Peggy’s sister, Linda Blomquist (Cristin Milioti), recently released from prison and put on probation following three counts of vehicular homicide, struggles at first to adjust to life outside the penitentiary but eventually finds herself drawn back into a life of crime in order to protect her family.
The new season follows Emmit Stussy (Ewan McGregor), the Parking Lot King of Minnesota, and his younger brother Ray (also played by Ewan McGregor) as they try to stay one step ahead of a determined cop (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) who is hell-bent on bringing Fargo’s most successful businessman down for good.

Fargo Season Five is coming to FX later this year. Fargo co-creator Noah Hawley took some time at the TCA summer press tour to reveal new details about Fargo Season Five, including what fans can expect from the upcoming season of Fargo and its release date.
Hearing that a trailer for Fargo was shown during TCAs made me so excited because I’ve been waiting since January when we heard it would premiere sometime in 2021! The show has not yet released any trailers, but they have confirmed with Deadline that one should come out before the end of August or early September.
