Edgewood Man Dead After Fatal Motorcycle Collision, Police Say


Harford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision in Edgewood.

Around 6:55 p.m. Saturday, police were called to the 1800 block of Old Nuttal Avenue to investigate a collision, involving a motorcycle and vehicle. The Maryland State Police transported the operator of the motorcycle by helicopter to the University of Maryland shock Trauma Center, where later succumbed to his injuries.

Accident Scene

According to the preliminary investigation, the driver was headed southbound on Old Nuttal Avenue when he crossed over into the center of the roadway, while attempting to take a curve. During the turn he fell off the bike and struck another vehicle that was traveling northbound on Old Nuttal Avenue.

No other injuries were reported and traffic deputies at the Harford County Sheriff’s Office indicate that there are no signs of impairment. While there is no preliminarily determinations as to what caused the wreck, deputies are indicating that the motorcyclist’s speed did play a factor in the collision. The investigation is still ongoing.

The operator of the motorcycle was later identified as 52-year-old Robert Douglas Myers of Nuttal Avenue.

  1. So sorry for the family. I met Rob twice and he was such a nice person. Wish I could have known him better. We had a lot of the same friends and they all would talk about him fondly. My prayers for Rob and the family and especially for his son.
