Easton Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash In Somerset County


Maryland State Police investigate a fatal motorcycle crash in Somerset County.

Around 2:01 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of MD 413 south of Lovers Lane in Westover.

A preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling southbound on MD 413 south of Lovers Lane. Two vehicles were in front of the motorcycle. The lead vehicle, a 2005 Dodge pickup truck started to turn left on southbound MD 413 onto a service road, when the motorcycle, for unknown reasons, attempted to pass both vehicles on the left of the center of the roadway, colliding into the driver side door of the Dodge truck.

The operator of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. A short time later, he was succumbed to his injuries.

Troopers identified the driver of the motorcycle as 78-year-old Allan Robin of Crisfield, Maryland. The driver of the Dodge truck was identified as 32-year-old William Keller of Easton, Maryland.

Troopers believe speed and alcohol were not factors in the collision.
