While searching for a new medical cure, he finds his way to Kamar-Taj and learns about magic from The Ancient One. He later finds his way to Kathmandu to find a different cure and living teacher from The Ancient One but is instead mistakenly take in by Dormammu who has been looking for an apprentice.

After a car accident, neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange is left unable to practice medicine. To regain his abilities, Strange travels to Nepal where he learns the mystic arts from The Ancient One and Kamar-Taj. When he returns home to New York City, he crosses paths with the Master of the Mystic Arts – who is the Ancient One’s other pupil – and a criminal known as Baron Mordo. The two men set out on a quest to find answers in Kamar-Taj.

Dormammu finds Strange, who then makes his way to Kathmandu, where The Ancient One tells him there is another way to regain his powers: the Book of Cagliostro. Together, they go to retrieve it before Mordo and the Ancient One can find it first.

During a fight with Mordo and his acolytes at a remote temple on the Tibetan plateau, Strange regains his full powers. Mordo then kills Pangborn, but Strange manages to escape after trapping Mordo in a circle of fire. Strange travels back home, where he confronts Mordo and tricks him into using magic to resurrect Pangborn. Strange then imprisons Mordo in a time loop that causes the latter’s death over and over again.

On Metacritic, it has a score of 66 out of 100 based on 42 reviews, indicating “generally favorable reviews”.
“Doctor Strange” grossed $232.6 million in the United States and Canada, and $445.8 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $677.4 million against a budget of $165 million.
