Coronavirus Natural Disaster Strikes Ohio Hospitality Industry, Leading To 77 Job Losses


Embassy Suites filed a WARN with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services On March 18, 2020. The notice alerted of a layoff that would impact 77 workers at the Dublin facility at 5100 Upper Metro Place in Dublin, Ohio.

Embassy Suites is a hotel chain that operates worldwide. The company claimed to have 253 locations in December 2018.

The layoff is expected to be permanent, according to the WARN. Employee separations are expected to begin March 19, running through March 23.

The job positions impacted by the layoff include but not limited to Accounting Clerk, Banquets Server, Bartender, Complimentary AM and PM Attendant, Cook, Engineer, Kitchen Steward, Server, and others.

Impacted workers do not have union representation.
