The first day Emily Elizabeth moved to town, it was raining hard outside. She was so sad because she had to leave all her friends behind and move away from the only home that she’s ever known. Emily met Clifford who was outside playing with a ball in the rain. He didn’t seem too bothered by it, and even seemed excited about inviting her along on his adventure!
The next day, they went exploring around the island and Emily caught her first glimpse of the ocean. Clifford loved to explore, but he never wanted anyone else to come with him on his adventures until now!
At night they camped out under stars in their backyard. The next day was a little rainy again so Clifford took Emily Elizabeth for an old-fashioned boat ride! When she first saw the ocean, Emily Elizabeth was a little scared of it since she had never seen such a big body of water before. But Clifford gave her courage and let her see that he could change this so she would be safe!
Clifford noticed how sad his new friend was looking lately, but didn’t know what to do until one day when he noticed that Emily Elizabeth was about to go on a walk by herself. He wanted her company so Clifford offered to come along and they had so much fun!
