Cleanup In Bennett Place Is Halted By Reports Of Gunfire


Baltimore Police and volunteers, conducting a cleanup in Harlem Park, were forced to halt their efforts, when “short fired” rang across police radios.

The Baltimore Sun reports that a cleanup in the 900 block of Bennett Place was halted due to reports of gunfire. Police immediately jumped in their cruisers and sped off in the direction of Pitcher Street near North Fremont Avenue.

A short time later, police apprehended a 21-year-old man who coerced two women to the area for a cellphone sale.

The man, who was not identified, joined the women in a vehicle that was parked in the 900 block of Arlington Avenue. Once in the vehicle, the man brandished a weapon and announced a robbery, according to The Sun.
