Drone racing is growing in popularity, giving racers an opportunity to show off their skills after many hours of practice. This sport requires precision maneuverability, agility and competitiveness to come out triumphant.
The Baltimore Drone Prix is a type of drone racing that allows participants to compete on several different levels. This event is similar to a soap box derby, because everyone that signs up to participate in the event will need to design and build their own racer drone and then put it to the test.
The pilots will be wearing first-person view (FPV) goggles, while maneuvering an unmanned aircraft at speeds 70 to 80 miles per hour.
The 2017 Baltimore Drone Prix is scheduled to take place at Open Works on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Register to attend the event at http://globalairmedia.com/droneracing/.
