CGI Federal filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services on November 15. The notice indicates the IT contractor will lay off 64 employees at its Cleveland facility in 2018.
CGI Federal is the contractor responsible for creating the online health insurance marketplace. In January 2014, the Obama administration decided to not renew its contract with CGI Federal, because it had not improved the Health and Human Services Department program.
The affected employees who have no bumping rights are expected to separate on January 8, 2018. The layoff will affect workers in the auxiliary support, consultant, customer service, manager, senior consultant, supervisor and technician support job categories, according to the filing.
