B&H Foto and Electronics Corp., the company behind the ecommerce site B&H Photo, filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice on August 21. The notice indicates the New York-based company will lay off 245 people, beginning November 19.
B&H Photo Video at 420 Ninth Avenue in Manhattan, New York was established in 1973, drawing in 5,000 customers daily. Most of the company’s sales originate from its ecommerce business and corporate sales.
B&H will close its Brooklyn Navy Yard facility at 63 Flushing Avenue and cease operations by December 2. All production at the facility will be relocated to New Jersey.
