Bath & Body Works filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the New York State Department of Labor on October 4. The notice indicates the American retailer will close its facility at 503 Broadway in New York in spring of 2018.
Bath & Body Works was founded in New Albany in 1990 and has since expanded across Peri, Chile, Canada and the United States. It is classified as the largest American bath shop that specializes in lotions, perfumes, home fragrances, candles and shower gels.
The filing cites the reason for dislocation as “moving all work from this location to the company’s headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. The employees impacted by the layoff are not represented by a union and are expected the separate in spring of 2018.
