Baltimore Police Investigating Two Early Morning Shootings, Victim Identified In Separate Shooting


Baltimore Police said a man was shot in the Northern District early Friday morning.

Around 5:26 a.m., police received a report of a shooting in the 5000 block of York Road. Upon arrival, the responding officers found a 23-year-old man who had been shot in his chest, police said.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was immediately prepped for surgery. His condition was not immediately available, but Homicide detectives have been notified due to his condition.

Violent Weekend In Baltimore

A preliminary investigation revealed the man was approached and shot by an unidentified suspect, while riding his bicycle.

Around 12:57 a.m., police arrived to the 4100 block of Chesterfield Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, the responding officers found a man who had been shot multiple times. The victim refused to cooperate with police so additional details are not available.

The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment. His condition is not available at this time.

Police have identified the man who was fatally shot in the 5100 block of Linden Heights Avenue on August 10 as George Madariage, 69, of the 100 block of Camp Springs Court.
