Baltimore Police Investigating Shooting At Liberty Heights


Baltimore, Maryland – On February 7, 2018 at approximately 11:35 a.m., Coppin State University Police reported hearing a firearm discharging in the 2400 block of Liberty Heights.

Moments later, Coppin State University police officers observed a vehicle driving away from the area. Police were able to stop that vehicle in the 3700 of Liberty Heights and seize a loaded handgun.

Detectives are currently talking with the driver of that vehicle.

A short time later, Northwest district patrol officers stopped another vehicle on Garrison Boulevard with a 30 year-old male occupant inside that was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigation leads detectives to believe that the victim was shot in the 2400 block of Liberty Heights.

Citywide Shooting detectives currently have a person of interest in custody.
