Baltimore Police Investigating Late Night Shooting And Homicide


Baltimore Police Department confirmed it was investigating two overnight shooting incidents.

At approximately 11:45 PM on August 18, officers responded to a shooting call at the 1600 block of Cliffview Avenue. After arriving at the scene, the officers discovered 24-year-old Devante Monroe with a gunshot wound to the chest. Monroe was transported to the hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

At this point in time, investigators suspect that the victim was in the 1700 block of Durham Street when he was hot. Homicide detectives are currently investigating the matter. Also, at approximately 2:45 AM on August 19, officers responded to a call on the 500 block of Annabel Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, a 29-year-old man was discovered with gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was transported to the hospital.

Investigators believe that the gunshot victim was involved in an argument around the 500 block of Annabel Avenue. During the course of the argument, the victim was shot. The case is currently being investigated by detectives from the Citywide Shooting Unit.
