Baltimore Police Investigating Early Morning Shooting On Edmonson Avenue


On July 30, 2018, Western District Patrol Officers were dispatched to Edmondson Avenue at Poplar Grove after receiving a report of a shooting. Once officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a 47-year-old man who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh and leg. The victim was transported to the hospital by medics for treatment.

The department’s preliminary investigation determined that the victim was in the vicinity of the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue when he was approached by an unidentified suspect. The suspect produced a gun and shot the victim. The victim ultimately fled to the location at Edmondson and Poplar Grove. In regards to the homicide that occurred on July 29, 2018 in the 2100 block of Presbury Street, the victim has been identified as 28-year-old Xavier Charles.
