Baltimore Police Identify Suspect In Western District Shooting


Baltimore Police say a suspect connected to a non-fatal shooting that took place on October 9 in the Northwest District.

Attempted Murder SuspectApproximately 11:58 p.m., police responded to the 4700 block of Wakefield Avenue to investigate a reported shooting. At the scene, the responding officers located a 29-year-old man who had been shot in the lip. Medics transported the man to a local hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigation revealed an unknown suspected approached, robbed and shot the victim in the lip. The suspect was later identified as Justin Payne, 32, of the 4700 block of Wakefield Road, according to the report.

Detectives arrested Payne Monday and charged him with attempted first-degree murder.
