Baltimore Police Identify Suspect In Hartford Road Homicide

Baltimore, Maryland – On March 28, 2018 at approximately 6:12 p.m., Northeast District patrol officers were dispatched to an apartment located in the 4600 block of Harford Road for a reported cutting.

Stabbing SuspectWhen officers arrived at the apartment they located 46 year-old Dymphna Ava Powell on the floor suffering from stab wounds.

Medics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

Homicide detectives were summoned and assumed control of the investigation upon their arrival.

Also inside the apartment was 44 year-old Tiffany Alston, the victim’s sister. Alston was interviewed by Homicide detectives.

Tiffany Alston told investigators that she stabbed her sister.

Alston was arrested and subsequently charged with 1st Degree Murder. She is currently being held at Central Booking Intake Facility.
