Baltimore Homeowner Fatally Shoots Intruder During Armed Robbery


Baltimore Police say a homeowner fatally shot an intruder during an armed robbery Thursday night.

Approximately 9 p.m., police responded to the 6800 block of Sturbridge Drive to investigate a reported shooting. At the scene, the responding officers met with the complainant who said an intruder with a knife forced his way into the apartment and demanded money.

Accident Scene

The complainant said he grabbed his firearm and discharged it one time, hitting the suspect in the upper body. Medics transported the suspect to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Officials have not ruled the shooting a homicide or released the name of the burglary suspect.
