At approximately 10 p.m. Friday, Baltimore County Police were dispatched to the 8000 block of Redstone Road to investigate a reported double stabbing. At the scene, officers located a husband and wife suffering from stab wounds.
The male victim told police that he had been stabbed, while sitting in a reclining chair. The female victim said she heard noises and entered the room, at which time she was stabbed in the upper body.
According to the report, the victims’ son was responsible for the stabbings. He fled the scene before officers arrived, but he was located a short time later and placed under arrest.
Both victims received treatment for non-life threatening injuries at a hospital and were later released.
The suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Michael Joseph Cottone of the 8000 block of Redstone Road. He has been charged with two counts each of attempted first-degree murder and first- and second-degree assault. He was transported to the Baltimore County Department of Corrections, where he is being held on a no-bond status.
