The future of the Peace Cross in Bladensburg is questionable, as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit in Richmond Virginia found it unconstitutional.
The justices said the historical landmark violates the separation of church and state. The monument built in 1925 is a tribute to the WWI soldiers from Prince George’s County.
The ruling sends the case back to the District Court, leaving the future of the World War I Veterans Memorial hanging in the balance.
