API Technologies To Close Its Fairport Plant, Laying Off 61 Employees


API Technologies, Corp. filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the New York State Department of Labor on October 27. The notice indicates the company will close its Fairport facility and lay off 61 employees next year.

Business Closing

API Technologies designs and manufactures high-performance systems, subsystems, components and modules for RF, millimeter wave, microwave, electromagnetic power, security applications and power applications.

The affected employees have no bumping rights and are expected to separate on or after January 24, 2018. All layoffs will be completed no later than February 7, 2018.

The reason for dislocation cited in the filing is “economic.” The company will close its facility at 72 Perinton Parkway on February 7, 2018.
