Anne Arundel County Police, acting on a tip, found skeletal remains in Annapolis on August 28. The victim has been identified as Jose Hernandez-Porillo, 22, of Annapolis.
Approximately 11 a.m., police responded to a wooded area of Quiet Waters Park in the 600 block of Quiet Waters Park Road to investigate human skeletal remains. At the scene, the responding officers and detectives located the remains of a young adult male.
Detectives believe the skeletal remains were a gang related homicide. The remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore. Hernandez-Porillo was reported missing on March 11, 2016.
Hernandez-Porillo’s death has been ruled a homicide. Detectives are confidant that this was a target crime and not a random act of violence, according to the report.
