Anne Arundel County Deputy Injured During An Arrest In Pasadena


Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office says one of its own was injured during an arrest of a woman with multiple warrants.

Approximately 3:30 p.m., the deputy was in the area of Magothy Bridge Road, when he observed a female passenger of a vehicle who was wanted on warrants. The deputy was attempting to arrest the woman, when the driver sped off. The vehicle dragged the deputy an unspecified distance.

The deputy was transported to Shock Trauma for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The woman was identified as 46-year-old Melissa Andrea Day of Severna Park and the driver as 41-year-old David Gale Waid of Stoney Beach.

Maryland State Police assisted Anne Arundel County police in an extensive search for Day and Waid, but were unable to locate them.
