AMETEK Plans To Lay Off Workers In Wapakoneta, Ohio
On January 27, 2020, the Ohio Office of Workforce Development received a WARN from AMETEK Inc. The letter explains that the company will be closing its Westchester Plastics facility this year. The facility is located at 14097 Cemetery Road in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
The facility will permanently close within 14 days of March 31, 2020. The majority of impacted employees will be laid off in the same period. They will remain on the payroll and receive salary and benefits through that date.
A few employees may remain beyond March 31, 2020 to help assist with the facility’s shutdown. In total, the company will be laying off 78 employees. Hourly employees are represented by the United Electrical, Radio, and Machine Workers of America Union.
