Allentown Doctor Gets 6 Months Confinement For Failing To File Tax Returns


Acting U.S. Attorney Louis D. Lappen announced Tuesday a Pennsylvania physician was sentenced for willfully failing to file federal income tax returns.

Sixty-three-year-old Harry W. “Buck” Buchanan of Allentown failed to file federal tax returns in 2009 and 2010. Buchanan, an ophthalmologist, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of willful failure to file federal tax returns.

Judge And JuryBuchanan admitted to failing to file and pay taxes for 2009 and 2010, even though his income exceeded the minimum amount establishing the requirement to file, according to court documents.

Buchanan also admitted to owning the IRS $194,643.
