ABM Aviation Inc. filed a Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the New York State Department of Labor on September 25. The notice indicates that the company will lay off 560 employees at JFK International Airport.
The AJC reports that ABM previously filed a WARN notice in Georgia, citing it would layoff 1,179 employees at Hartsfield-Jackson. The layoff was related to Delta shifting the work to its own subsidiary Delta Global Services effective November 15.
The workers impacted by the layoff provide security and passenger services to travelers at JFK International Airport, Terminal 2 and 4. Separations are expected to take place on November 14.
