A 2007 Shooting Upgraded To A Homicide Investigation After Victim Dies


Lyndon Waddell Jr., 29, suffered a gunshot wound to the back in a 2007 shooting incident. On April 8, Waddell died from complications of an infection linked to the gunshot wound, an autopsy concluded.

Waddell was a patient at the Johns Hopkins Hospital when he died on April 8.

On Saturday, the shooting was upgraded to a homicide and the investigation remains open, police said during a statement.On January 5, 2007, Waddell was in the 1700 block of Carswell Street in Northeast Baltimore when he was shot. The 29-year-old lived about a block away at the time. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he underwent surgery. The gunshot wound left him paralyzed.
