36-Year-Old Man Arrested For Impersonating Police Officer, Sexually Assaulting Male Victim


Approximately 6:15 a.m. Sunday, Prince George’s County Police officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Guilford Road In Langley Park to investigate a reported sexual assault. At the scene, the officers met with a man who said he had been sexually assaulted by an unknown man with a police badge.

The victim told officers the man represented himself as a police officer.

Preliminary investigation revealed the suspect approached the victim in the 2300 block of University Boulevard and asked for his ID. The suspect then told the victim that the area was unsafe and offered to give him a ride home.

The suspect drove to the 2100 block of Guilford Road, where he forced the victim to perform sexual acts. The victim was able to escape and took a picture of the suspect’s vehicle’s license plate as it sped away.

The suspect has been identified as Michael Leon Bell, 36, of the 4400 block of Dery Road in Upper Marlboro. Bell was charged with first-degree rape, second-degree assault and impersonating a police officer.
