24-Year-Old In Critical But Stable Condition After Colliding Into Culvert In Kent County

Massey, Maryland – On Saturday, December 9, 2017 at approximately 7:55 PM, troopers from the Centreville Barrack responded to the area of 12604 Massey Road (MD Rt. 299), Massey, Kent County in reference to a serious single motor vehicle collision.

Preliminary investigation determined the Ford F-250 pick-up truck, bearing Delaware registration C497491, operated by a Catherine E. Carroll (W/F, 24 yoa) of Smyrna,Trooper Of Maryland

Delaware was traveling southbound when the vehicle exited the right side of the roadway, collided with a culvert, overturned, causing Carroll to be ejected.

Carroll was transported by Galena EMS to Christina Medical Center in Newark, Delaware for her injuries. Alcohol and severe Weather/Road Conditions are believed to be a contributing factor.

Carroll remains in critical but stable condition. The collision remains under investigation.
