15-Year-Old In Critical Condition After Elkridge Shooting


Howard County Police say a 15-year-old male was shot in Elkridge Saturday.

Approximately 11:46 a.m., police were dispatched to the 6400 block of Greenfield Road to investigate a reported shooting. At the scene, the responding officers found a 15-year-old suffering from a non-fat gunshot wound and a 16-year-old male who was uninjured outside an apartment building.

ArrestThe 15-year-old was airlifted to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, where he is listed in critical condition, according to the report.

It is unclear if the shooting was accidental or how the teens came into possession of the firearm. Additional details were not immediately available.
