Stanley Black & Decker, a Connecticut-based manufacturer of hardware, power tools and home improvement products, announced the opening of its new makerspace in Towson.
The new facility features an array of power tools, equipment and hand tools that are available to the company’s employees. Only a mile from the Stanley Black & Decker headquarters on Joppa Road, the new center is easily accessible and aims to help all employees develop their ideas into real products.
The company plans to reach out to local universities, in an effort to expand the use of the center to even more innovative minds.
Stanley Black & Decker employees 2,100 people in Maryland and plans to add 400 more engineering- and innovation-focused jobs.
