Ruth Shaw, an upscale women’s clothing retailer, is opening a new 3,100 square feet boutique in The Shops at Kenilworth just behind Trader Joe’s. Vacating its current location in the Village of Cross Keys, Ruth Shaw has been a prominent resource for Baltimore and the fashion industry for over 40 years.
The owners of The Shops at Kenilworth in Towson, Maryland, Greenberg Gibbons, has invested $20 million dollars in a renovation project that will add more modernity and vibrancy to a already community gem.
Ruth Shaw will join a mixture of beauty and fashion shops at Kenilworth, including Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, South Moon Under, Salon, Cloud 9 Clothing Collections, Lou Lou Boutiques and the Quiet Storm Surf Shop.
Along with Ruth Shaw, Greenberg Gibbons announced three more retailers coming this spring, including ZenLife, Quiet Storm and Amaryllis.
“Aging is an opportunity,” said Tom Fitzpatrick, president of the Owings Mills-based Greenberg Gibbons, which bought the property in 2015 and recently began the upgrades that include a large new mall entrance, with white tiles and skylights. “We’re pretty entrenched in the Baltimore County market and we always believed Kenilworth was a gem that just needed a little polishing.”
The Girl Next Door Shop at Cross Keys will consolidate into one large newly designed space.
The 2015 opening of Trader Joe’s in The Shops at Kenilworth has been the key to drawing more retailers to follow in suit. This and the fact that Kenilworth is very easily accessible makes it perfect for local consumers and retailers.
