Prince George’s County Police Announce Arrests In July Homicide In Adelphia

Prince George’s County Police identify two suspects connected to the fatal stabbing of a 47-year-old man. Elias Portillo, 14, of the 7900 block of 18th Avenue in Adelphi. The second suspect’s name is being withheld, because he was charged as a juvenile in the case.

Portillo and the 13-year-old male were charged with the second-degree murder of Francisco Sagastizado, police said.

Around 8:10 a.m. July 27, the Maryland-National Capital Park Police received a report of an unresponsive male in the 7800 block of West Park Drive. Upon arrival, the responding officers found the victim lying in the woods. He had been stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects demanded money from Sagastizado and he refused to comply. The suspects responded by stabbing the man to death.
