Montgomery County Police were called to the 18900 block of Mills Choice Road about 9:10 a.m. Thursday, in response to a noose hanging from a tree. A resident found the noose around 8:00 a.m. near a parking lot at the Heron’s Cove Condominium neighborhood.

Police said there was no indication the noose was directed toward a particular person, according to the statement.

Several nooses have been discovered in the Washington area over the past few weeks. Last month, a noose was found inside the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) in Washington D.C.
