Congressman Elijah Cummings and Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh were present on Tuesday for the grand opening of the new Greyhound Intermodal terminal.
The 9,516-square-feet facility is dedicated to Cummings, who supported the project, before it got off the ground and throughout the construction process.
“I am deeply humbled by this tremendous honor,” Congressman Cummings said. “This new bus terminal is a vital investment in Baltimore’s future and will serve our city’s residents and visitors for years to come. Baltimore’s federal, state and local officials must continue working in partnership with our business community to ensure that Baltimore residents will have reliable and affordable transit options.”
The building replaced a temporary structure near the Horseshoe Casino at 2110 Haines Street.
The terminal with 10 bus bays is currently open to the public and will offer 62 daily bus schedules, covered loading areas, comfortable seating, Wi-Fi and electric receptacles for charging electronic devices.
