Maryland Immigrant School Rape Case Results In Child Porn Plea

Earlier this year, a Rockville, Maryland case sparked national outrage when it was claimed that two immigrants sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in a school bathroom. The 14-year-old later recanted the claims and the rape charges were subsequently dropped against Jose Montano 17 from El Salvador and Henry Sanchez-Milian 18.

Authorities claimed the evidence was inconsistent with the allegations. Attorney for Sanchez-Milian, Andrew Jezic, claims text messages between the girl and Montano showed that the girl has helped plan the sexual encounter. The rape charges were dropped on May the 9th, but the story doesn’t end there.

Rockville Maryland RapistJose Montano admitted on Friday to having a lewd image of the girl on his cellphone. The teens’ attorneys claim that images were sent from the girl to Montano, who subsequently shared them with Sanchez-Milian. Montano was charged in juvenile court, while Milian is now facing charges in an adult court. Milian’s case is still pending.

Despite the outcome, Montano’s attorney, Jose Canto, remains hopeful that his client will be able to get a green card. According to the Washington Post, Montano’s lawyers attempted to use his background to garner sympathy from the judge. His attorney claims he was fleeing from gangs, when entering the United States.
