Man Arrested In Connection With Fatal Shooting In Arbutus

On Wednesday, Baltimore County police arrested and charged Raymond Vladas Armalis Jr., 37, in the death of Charles Edward Watson Jr., 46, of Baltimore.

Around 8 p.m. on July 4, Police responded to a shooting in the 1000 block of South Beechfield Avenue in Arbutus. Upon arrival, officers discovered Watson who was suffering from a gunshot would to his upper body. Watson was transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

“They had ongoing disputes,” police spokeswoman Officer Jennifer Peach said. “They were not friendly with each other. There were a lot of things they did not agree on and we aren’t sure what it was that set the suspect off last night.”

Watson’s girlfriend and Armalis lived in Arbutus, where the shooting incident took place. After a verbal altercation, Armalis entered the home to retrieve a gun. He shot Watson in the upper body at least once, police said.

Armalis was arrested and taken to the Baltimore County Detention Center, where he is being held without bail.
