La Cuchara, a Basque-inspired restaurant, opened on Clipper Mill Road in spring 2015 in Woodberry, with great success and two years later, the Lefenfeld brothers are ready to open yet another restaurant in South Baltimore. Minnow will open the first week of May on the first floor of the 2 East Wells apartment building.
The “casual neighborhood” restaurant will seat 135 patrons comfortably, featuring a menu with a variety of delicious seafood dishes, such as soft-shell crab BLTs, chilled poached salmon nicoise and Bluefin tuna crudo, along with non-seafood items, crispy chicken sandwich and veggie burger.
Chef Drew Lesoveck will head the kitchen operations under owner and chef, Ben Lefenfeld. Lesoveck, formerly of the Foreman Wolf Restaurant Group, prides himself on providing guests with a memorable experience and maintaining a smooth running kitchen.
Jake Lefenfeld, formerly of Blue Agave and Don’t Know, will serve as Minnow’s general manager, while also overseeing the bar program together with Marco Valverde. Ben Lefenfeld will stay on at La Cuchara, but will oversee the menu at Minnow.
The bar menu will consist of nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages, including draft beer, cocktails, shot specials, five beer taps and a 100-bottle wine list. With four TVs, patrons will be able to watch their favorite NFL team the Ravens compete against their toughest rivals on game days.
Minnow will open 7 days a week at 5 p.m., with happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
