InRoad Toys, a toy tape company headquartered in Crofton, Maryland, announces partnership with leading consumer tape company, Shurtape Technologies LLC. The partnership will provide the toy tape company more opportunities to increase production, expand into new markets, reduce costs and increase efficiency.
InRoad Toys’ flagship product, PlayTape, mimics streets, highways and railroad tracks, with a sticky coating that can adhere to pretty much any flat surface. PlayTape was unveiled at the 2014 International Toy Fair in New York and since then, it has ballooned from only a handful of toy stores to 12,000 stores in 35 countries.
Shurtape, maker of FrogTape, T-Rex Tape and Duct Tape, is one of the leading consumer tape manufacturers in the United States.
Just this year, the U.S. Small Business Administration officially awarded InRoad Toys with title of the Maryland Home-Based Business of the Year.
The company also reached an agreement with Mattel Inc. to sell Hot Wheels PlayTape in 2016.
InRoad’s CEO and toy-car fanatic, Andy Musliner, founded the company in 2002 after attempting to develop a toy that would build roads for his son, who was three years old at the time.
