According to a statement released by Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Prince George’s County has reserved two potential sites for the headquarters, the former Landover Mall property and Greenbelt Metro Station.

The new headquarters will facilitate 11,000 FBI employees comfortably, which the current J. Edward Hoover Building is not capable of doing. The House of Representatives is working on approving additional parameters for the GSA to use in determining the final site for the FBI’s new home.

The $390 million secured by Senator Mikulski in FY 2016, will be combined together, along with the $255 million and proceeds from the sale of the J. Edward Hoover Building. This is half of the funding secured for the project, with both the Prince George’s sites are superior by all means, including location, size, project costs and availability.

Senator Mikulski has put a lot of effort into the project over the last four years and will be stepping down from her Senate seat after three decades.
