Former CEO Of Bagby Restaurant Group Arrested On Theft And Burglary Charges

Former CEO of Bagby Restaurant Group was arrested last week on theft and burglary charges. Chris Becker broke into the group’s offices housed in the building at 29 West Susquehanna Avenue.

At 10:12 a.m. July 22, Becker was caught on surveillance footage entering and exiting the building multiple times. Each time Becker was seen wearing different cloths and “a dark-colored wig to disguise himself,” according to court documents. He left the building for the last time at 11:33 a.m., carrying a backpack and two brown boxes.

The president and an employee of Bagby Pizza Brands identified Becker in the video footage. The employee also discovered the lock on the front door of the building was unlocked and damaged at 9:20 a.m. July 23. Becker’s office door was open and bank statements were missing. Human resources representation Adria Giattino told police some file cabinets in her office were open.

Chris BeckerOn July 25, Becker was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree burglary, two counts of fourth-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property valued at $1,000 and theft less than $100, according to court documents.

Becker posted bond on the same day he was arrested.

In April, the Bagby Restaurant Group filed a lawsuit against Becker alleging he committed fraud, solicited escorts utilizing a work email, misappropriated company trade secrets and stole from the group during his tenure at CEO.

The case is still under investigation.
