Copper Wire Stripped From Streetlights In Dundalk And Sold For A Hefty Profit

Copper wiring is being stripped from several streetlights in Dundalk, forcing travelers to drive in the dark.

Since April, there have been approximately five thefts involving the streetlights on the ramps along the Beltway at Eastern Avenue, police said. The latest incident occurred on Tuesday night.

 

Suspect Stealing Copper Out Of Streetlights

According to the Baltimore County police, the copper can fetch a hefty profit up into the thousand-dollar range. Most of the incidents have occurred during the early evening hours.

The police released a surveillance photo of the suspect on Wednesday. Anyone with information about the thefts or suspect’s identity is being asked to contact the Baltimore County Police Department at 410-307-2020.
