The Philly Pretzel Factory, a Philadelphia-based franchise, specializes in twisted pretzels that are made fresh all day long. The bakery opened its doors for the first time on Friday at its new location in the Light Street Pavilion between The Fudgery and Johnny Rockets. It will feature an outdoor kiosk and a mobile pretzel stand, which will only be available when the conditions are favorable.
The franchisee, Michael Ward, a Harford County resident, plans to open up another location in Bel Air in May. The downtown location will provide many opportunities for local businesses, hospitals and schools, with delivery services within a 3-4 mile radius, including South Baltimore neighborhoods.
The menu consists of the Philly Pretzel Factory signature pretzel nuggets, Rivets, traditional and cinnamon Pretzel Twists, Pretzel Cheesesteaks and Spicy Pretzel Sausages, with 10 different dipping sauces. Single pretzels and large trays are available for catering and parties.
The store manager, Jay Kuhn, will oversee day-to-day operations and eight employees. Ward is encouraging all vendors selling Philly-style pretzels outside of Ravens games to pick up their orders at his location.
