Abandoned Seagram’s Distillery Catches On Fire Overnight

The former Seagram’s distillery in Dundalk caught on fire Monday night, according to Baltimore County Fire Department.

Around 10 p.m., 911 received a report of a fire at the abandoned distillery on Sollers Point Road, which has not been in utilized since the 1990s. When fire crews arrived on scene, they discovered a burning warehouse on the property. Firefighters did not enter the building, but fought it from the outside.

Nearly 20 fire engines responded to the fire.

The 12-acre property, owned by Sollers Investors, has been considered for a future site featuring 185 townhouses in a project referred to as Foundry Station. A smokestack and water tower on the property are designed as county landmarks and must be preserved.
